I’m based in San Diego and so far in our location, the shake was strong especially in downtown San Diego buildings, but all of us our safe and I hope most people are especially those near the epicenter.
I really think earthquake detection technology should really be super sophisticated especially in coastal areas and urban areas where many damages can occur. Cal Orey was one of the people known to detect earthquakes well before they happen. His book
explains many techniques in earthquake prediction and is cheap, with less than $13 bucks, that extra knowledge can save lives.
If you want to go hightech and learn more about plate tectonics and more, also a bit more pricey at $284, get the Fundamentals of Earthquake Prediction
by Cinna Lomnitz. Extra knowledge can save lives.
